Introduction

Are you a business person who enjoys the Arts or are you an Arts Practitioner and interested in learning about the business end of your field while you continue to practice?  Do you love the Arts, are a natural organiser and would love a change of career?  Or are you interested in pursuing a degree in this field? 

This course is designed to provide you with a diverse knowledge and understanding of the Arts as well as the core skills to perform as an effective administrator in this field.

If you are not sure what direction you would like to take, the Arts and Business Management course gives you a good range of choice from Business to the Arts. There is a diverse range of subjects which opens up a lot of opportunities and we have made great connections and networked with people in Arts organisations. The course is intensive yet stimulating and as part of the project work, we organise real arts events which involves opportunities for teamwork. We’ve been on fantastic field trips to IMMA, Pavilion Theatre, Galleries and Museums and the teachers are a great help too!

Assessment and certification
  • This course is certified by QQI.
  • Assessment is based on a combination of work submitted during the year and exams.
  • You will be awarded a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Arts Administration (6M3618).

Entry Requirements

  • You will need to have a QQI Level 5 qualification or equivalent. 
  • If you are a mature student (aged 21 or over) and do not hold the Leaving Certificate, then you are welcome to apply. Each application will be assessed individually. 

Advisory Meeting

Applicants will have an advisory meeting to offer guidance and to ensure course suitability. Places will be offered, on a first come basis, following the outcome of the personal Advisory Meeting, subject to the applicant meeting the entry requirements of the course. Applicants will also be advised on course costs and registration details.

Fees

At course commencement, students are required to pay for books, exams, €200 PLC Government Levy (unless exempt), a Student Services fee and where applicable professional body registration fees. There are no tuition fees for EU students.
