Having come from an artistic background, my particular area of interest for joining the course was in the planning and organisation of exhibitions and the management of art galleries.  I have been able to build on the skills I learned, such as preparing my work for exhibition and marketing it.  The insights gained from guest speakers working in the arts sector have been very helpful in focusing my career.  The most challenging and rewarding part of the course for me was my involvement in the successful organisation and staging of various events, as part of a team of equally enthusiastic people.  I appreciated learning from tutors who were experts in their field.  I found the field trips and talks by visiting speakers very stimulating and meant that the course never became monotonous.  I am currently undergoing practical training with a view to starting my own art business. I hope to be able to put into practice much of what I learned at BFEI.
