Taxation - Key Aspects of Gift and Inheritance Tax

Introduction

This part time course is intended to inform individuals when planning and dealing with Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT) and Inheritance Tax issues.

No prior knowledge of tax or financial planning is required.

The course comprises 8 sessions covering the following topics:

  • Group thresholds
  • Residence and Domicile
  • Exemptions
  • Reliefs - Dwelling house; Business Property; Agricultural
  • Administration of estates and trusts;
  • Role of executors and probate
  • Case studies examining practical applications to specific situations

 

The course is intended to better inform individuals when planning and dealing with CAT issues.  It is not intended to replace professional advice.

 

The course is delivered by Shane McCarthy, a qualified Chartered Tax Adviser and highly experienced lecturer in taxation, finance and accounting.

Attendance and Calendar

Commencing Monday 24 September 2018, students attend 6:30pm-8:30pm over 8 weeks.
