Learning how to program can be challenging, especially in large lecture size classes. At Dublin College Blackrock (formerly BFEI), located in Blackrock Village, Co. Dublin, students benefit from small class sizes where they are encouraged to ask questions, receive individual support, and build confidence as they develop key problem-solving skills.
This course provides a strong foundation in computer science and software development. Students learn programming fundamentals alongside key areas such as software testing, web design and database design.
A key feature of the programme is an introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI). Students explore how AI systems work. They also develop an understanding of the terminology and techniques used in modern AI systems and how these technologies are applied in real-world contexts.
As part of the programme, students can complete an industry-recognised IBM SkillsBuild AI course, which gives a structured introduction to AI concepts including machine learning, neural networks and deep learning.
