The 1926 Census will be released on April 18 2026.
It will be fascinating to see our families as they were 100 years ago.

To help prepare for this event, we will study the existing Census returns, especially the 1901 and 1911.
This will help us to enter into the spirit of discovery.

The course will offer a structured approach to finding out about your family.

It will cover:

  • Existing Census returns.
  • Birth, Marriage and Death records,
  • Church records,
  • Land records
  • Court records, especially Wills
  • Occupational records like teachers, police and soldiers
  • Other records, like Emigration records, Newspapers, etc, if time permits.

Aiden Feerick, Member of Accredited Genealogists Ireland, will be the tutor.
At present, he is part of the team working in the National Archives of Ireland, providing genealogical advice and assistance in person and by email.
Over the years, he has contributed articles on family history to local journals.
