Landscape Architecture Course - Dublin
At BFEI located in Blackrock, Co. Dublin we offer a one year, QQI Level 5 course in Landscape Architecture.
Are you a creative person with an interest in design, problem solving, digital media and horticulture? Would you like to be involved in the design of public parks, outdoor recreational spaces, gardens, and green spaces? Landscape Architecture is a broad and emerging domain which centres on building an understanding of how to create functional and aesthetically pleasing outdoor public spaces. It is one of the most interesting, dynamic and rewarding areas of study and career pathways to follow.
This course has been tailored to provide you with a range of formative skills, knowledge and experiences needed to pursue a career as a Landscape Architect. It will be of interest to school leavers, professionals, horticulturalists, or contractors wishing to upskill and anyone with an interest in art and design wishing to broaden their skill base.
There are currently very few qualifying courses for Landscape Designers in Ireland. BFEI graduates may progress to degree level at Gloucestershire University, Cheltenham which is recognised by the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA Europe), enabling graduates to work anywhere in the world.
Opportunities exist to work in private practice as consultants undertaking commissions for both public authorities and private clients. There are also career opportunities in government departments, public bodies, local authorities, industry, sustainable development agencies and in the offices of architects, engineers and building contracting companies. Landscape Design offers an interesting, challenging and rewarding career for those with a talent for drawing, art and design and who have an interest in enhancing the natural environment.
