Graphic Design

Introduction

Are you a visual thinker?  Do you love graphics in magazines or on the web?  Are you constantly doodling and drawing?  Do you want to do a degree in Visual Communications but have no time to prepare a portfolio before the Leaving Certificate?  Are you a mature student wanting to change careers?

Then consider a career as a Graphic Designer.  Graphic communication is present all around us - every logo, every newspaper, and every food package.  Designers take a concept and develop it into pictures and slogans so that it is reflective and remembered by the audience.

Testimonial

I had thought carefully about returning to study graphic design as a mature student and felt that the course at BFEI would give me an introduction to the subject and allow me to develop my portfolio. I found the course at BFEI really stimulating, the classes were great and the class size meant that I got to know the tutors and the other students really well.  Throughout the year, I studied areas such as art appreciation, image processing, typography, communications and graphic design. I also completed a work experience placement in the Graphic Design Department at the National Museum of Ireland. The projects that I completed at BFEI formed the basis of my portfolio and I got accepted to study Visual Communications at DIT, Grangegorman.  I would recommend the course at BFEI to anyone interested in studying graphic design, it was really enjoyable and was an essential step on my higher education journey.
